Outside the jetties, Snake Island on the Stono, Bull Island near the sandy beach. Sharks everywhere man. Just soak some cut bait and you’ll find em.

Stono River off of snake island is a good spot. I cast net large mullet at low tide. Use them live on a Carolina rig with 80lb mono. You need a 4 ounce egg sinker for the deeper holes.
Takes about 15 mins for the sharks to find you then it’s game on!

The best shark fishing is the edge of the shipping channel in the harbor. You can catch all types of big fish there too. Fish catches all sharks while stingray and hsark catch large sharks.

Snake island has shifting sand bars so watch your depth and speed it goes from good water to sand in no time.

Just an FYI, soaking cut bait will get you a lot of rays as well. You can target specifically bonnethead sharks using halves of blue crab, and they’re a fun fight on medium tackle. You might also catch some reds using crab as well

We typically catch Bonnet Head in the rivers (mostly Folly) on 1/2 blue crab. Just recently hired a guide for shark fishing and we fished the inside of the north jetty and then about 3 miles straight out of the jetties. Fished in about 40 ft of water with cut bait (we were using barracuda). We caught both black tips and fine tooth sharks. All were in the 4 ft range.
You can pretty much find them anywhere as others have said

We are headed back down in three weeks to surf fish for shark at the north end of Folly.

Had some good size ones come to our chum while tarpon fishing under the bridge to HH. Had one hit a 8"live mullet and pull drag till he poped the mono leader. There 4 6/7’ bulls after a lady fish I caught and threw back.

I just FINALLY got a boat. We are putting it in the the water on October 13th due to the harvest moon and the lunar phase (plus I have a 4 day that weekend). We were thinking around the stono inlet. I have used stingray in the past with no luck. I fish a lot so which part should I use for the bait. I often go with the wings. It’s just a little jon boat but I’ve been saving a long for a boat. What are some other good spots. I stay fishing on johns island along the stono but have only caught baby rays.

All The Way!!

Have caught a lot of Bonnetheads in Folly River on 1/2 blue crabs
