New to Irmo and trying to avoid the dam. What is the scoop there. I saw a box to pay the ramp fee, is that it? What are the hours there? Any info at all?
If I’m thinking about the same landing, I have a friend that uses it. There’s an honor box to pay. Only problem he’s talked about is that it is a shallow ramp and you have to back way out to get your boat off the trailer. He’s fishing out of a 17’ aluminum boat. I can see where bigger fiberglass boats could be a pain to launch there.

I put in there on occassion, but even with my skiff, I’ll only put in there when I have someone along that can back the boat off the trailer or during the warmer months when I don’t mind stepping in the water a bit to launch. Like Bowhunter said, very shallow ramp with not much slope at all.
I believe he may leave the gate open all night this time of year, but you would need to check to make sure. The owner, Johnny, is usually hanging around.
BTW, I remember someone posting here or on the Reports Forum that he was selling herring there. I heard he is got out of that.
