HHBuilder…I have been a member since 10/30/2001, probably one of the oldest, still active posters on here. There are people here who have been on this site for far less than I have been, and they by far exceed my posts.
I had to be extremely careful not to do any more damage to my heel, otherwise it would have meant surgery…and that would have put me out of commission for several months longer.
If you have never fractured a heel…be very thankful. My foot looked like a dead person’s, it was so black and blue, and my leg was swollen beyond belief for several months. i would not wish that pain on my worst enemy…if I had a worst enemy. Which I hope I don’t.

hey, don’t let it stop you, i was having friends pick me up out of my wheelchair and throwing me over in the boat when i shattered my legs, feet and had a pin in my hip as well as pins and casts on my arms. go kill some fish buddy because it is the best therapy. hope you get better soon.

Ouch…my friends were driving me around,taking me to PT, and helping me walk down the ramp to the boat.
I wouldn’t wish anyone injury or bad health. But, this forum does provide mental therapy when you’re experiencing PT and you’re not out there fishing like we all want to be doing during the good days! Gofshn has the best idea… Go fishin anyway!

If your cast is only up to your knee I have experienced your pain. What I did was wear my slickers sucked when it was hot, and taped a gallon zip lock around the bottom. Then wore one gay TEVA no offense if any of you wear them 3 sizes to big for traction. Worked great kept it all dry.
