Sorry to hear about that, I lost about a half of a fishing season a few years back when I fractured my heel, jumping off a boat that I was helping to fuel up. It was something I had done hundreds of times before, but it was right after a storm…the dock was wet, and I only had on sandals. Bad move on my part.

I was not allowed to drive for 6 weeks, and spent months undergoing PT. Lost several weeks worth of work.

Fortunately, I was able to avoid surgery. The ramp that I have to walk down at the marina is pretty much the only one that has non-skid on it…I put it there. From walking on one leg for over eight months, I do not, even to this day, feel comfortable when walking down the ramp at really low tide.
Take care.

i broke my arm but didn’t hold me back i fished played soccer football basketball and everything else but that cast was nasty by the time they took it off i had fish blood and sweat dried up it in it. i would wrape it in atrash bag and duck tape it tite so i could go in water just didn’t take it under water but don’t let it hold you back.

NG - I want to fish with y’all one time this season if its possible

will you cross the bridge for that?

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up and loudly proclaiming, “WOW! What a ride!”

Got rid of the splint on Monday/ good news no surgery. Isn’t it funny how the doctors are like “suck it up” when they are wrenching a three day old break. The prick did put a full cast on it- what a difference. Got a feeling I’ll be putting weight on it by the weekend. Could mean boating in 2-weeks of so. If new x-rays look good I should have this cast off in 4 weeks and then a splint/walking cast. The problem is keeping my 3 kids and 2 dogs out of my way on the crutches b-4 I trip and break some thing else. Thanks for the banter folks, I appreciate it.

I think this will go good with the boat decor maybe we can put a holder for it right next to the gaff.

i think they make cup holders for those things too

how bout a gaff on the end of it.

It looks like most of us won’t be able to catch up with you now that this has happened.

YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT I MEAN… We’ll, just look at NG after she broke her heel. YEP… she’s in the 2000 + posts.

Courtland, I’m sure you’ll be there before you know it… then you’ll be fishing again.
