Who has actually caught one and on what. I have a flat with a bunch on it and they will not touch Kwans and homemade etc flies. They are tailing/rolling to feed. They will spook and then go back to feeding.

Planning to try them on tues am. I found an oyster bar that they have been feeding on every time I go by. I’ll give ya a report on how it goes.
I know its not a fly, but tie a regular hook and throw a fiddler on it … if they eat it you’ll have a hell of a fight, have you tried a shrimp fly on smaller hook ??
I’ve tried a bunch of flies. I know it is tough to sight cast them, just looking for someone that has completed the deal. They look like they are feeding on snails more than anything else.

small bonefish flies…like the bubble crab ( a glue egg causes the weight. lead the helloutta them and try to strip it into their sight range…as you know- spooky as they can be- don’t point at em even.
Well gave it a shot this am. 15knot winds and lower than expected tide made it tough. Plenty of fish there but hard to see with the blown water. Had one fish take a swipe at a crab pattern but I pulled the hook. It didn’t seem like the fish were spooked by the boat or the less than perfect casting. They were just tailing away around a few oyster bars. I’d like to give it another shot on a calmer day.
I don’t encounter them very often, but the other day I offered one a small crab pattern, watched’em roll on the side felt nothing so decided to stick it…came up empty handed. Oh well!

So if you find catching fish on the fly entirely too simple i highly recommend sheephead.:o}
im just getting a feel for them with shrimp so it will be a while for me.

You first tried catching sheepshead on shrimp or have you caught them on fiddlers too, I found fiddlers the easiest way shrimp always seemed to be a bust
