So I headed out to try for some Sheepshead again this afternoon. I didn’t even make it out of the neighborhood when little did I know I was spotted by corey1031. I received a text letting me know I had been spotted and telling me to catch a big one. I told him to come on and we could meet at the ramp to my surprise he took me up on the offer. I’m glad he did I don’t ever mind fishing by myself but I always enjoy his company on my boat.
We arrived at our spot with about an hour or so left on the incoming tide baited up and got to work. This was corey1031’s first attempt at sheepshead. It wasn’t long before we started to get some action but no hook ups for a while. Finally we started to catch a few they were small but tons of fun anyway. We moved around a few times and managed to catch a few more for about 12 total along with a couple of BSB and a puffer. Finally after being robbed of the remainder of our bait I decided to bust open a few oysters and give that a try for a few minutes before the sunset and BAM! the only keeper of the day 18". Had a great time as always and thanks again for coming along corey1031.
Wow, love that last one. I keep saying I am going to go out one day and do nothing but try to catch a sheep but my son is not as patient as I am. May just have to tell him to suck it up and deal with it. Good job!

Catching Sheep was real cool. Also caught my first puffer. No that there real speacial. Just cool to catch something differt and cool.
Nice sheepshead; it beats my biggest by an inch. I think I recognize that spot. Good sheep area. I was stopped by DNR there a few years ago when taking oysters off the structure for bait. Ended up with a warning, but he threatened a $400 fine for harvesting shellfish in a closed area.
