Sheeps

Caught about 25-30 but most were too small to get a good fillet. kept 4. lost 3-4 bruisers near the boat. went out right at low tide. went to the spot i went to last year and slayed them. how many did we get? zero. next go to spot… zero… went to the “reliable spot for 2-3 solid 3-5 pounders”… nothing. Finally just went to to new docks lined up in a row, shallow water, never tried them before… first one we hit was one after the other. went through a pint of fiddlers in about 30-45 mins. I need about 3 or 4 more to have some good fillets for my in-laws the day before thanksgiving so going tomorrow.

Alright, so for the miscellaneous and helpful info:
-6 ft of water
-incoming tide
-fiddlers
-getting desperate with barnacles didn’t work
-getting desperate with male fiddler claws that were still on the boat DID work
-chummed fiddlers and barnacles… didn’t matter… if they were there then they were there. if they weren’t then don’t waste your crabs
-tide at one point was “semi-ripping” (if that makes sense) but still catching them.

Advice for those looking and not as good as the pros out there (i’m not one of those): try docks for 5 mins. no lost crabs=MOVE TO THE NEXT #### DOCK. all were near the bottom so drop them to the bottom and real up just enough so your crab is off the bottom. 5 mins is more than enough this time of year to know.

just relaying on what worked for me. if you have better tricks of the trade, feel free to let me know! still learning! beautiful day

…sorry, one last note. caught one slot red at random dock on way into ramp. through chunk mullet on the bottom. about 1 foot from shell bank shoreline that was underneath dock. don’t think there’ll be too many at the deep portions of the docks now.

Great report, Shamrock. Good luck catching the rest of in-law dinner tomorrow. I hope they appreciate the sacrifices you make for them, spending all weekend fishing and all.

thanks vinman! sorry for no pics. always appreciate yours. have pics but haven’t posted. waiting for after tomorrow’s trip. always like seeing pics of you & the fam. my wife & little man (with sis & her fiance) are joining me tomorrow.

yak-- i think i’ve seen you post lately & you’re a youngin’ which is great. soak it all up. as to which yc… neither… but it doesn’t matter; this is the time of the year to get out there and hit all the docks. 5 mins & if nothing then move to the next. i’ll pm ya bud.

Great job on the convicts Shamrock…those suckers will rob you like a “Tief in da Night”!!!

Glad to knocked them out. Doug and I are locked on for Sunday.

A wise man once said “Do as I say not as I do” Good advice when I tell you that.

nice… feel like i have a cheerleading section… liking this a lot. going to suck if i get skunked tomorrow (usually my luck when i get my hopes up).

bugs, how’d you end up today? didn’t see if you had a report yet. docks? grass line? creek mouths? on bottom or cork? bait? have you’re good luck charm with you (horry)?

opps, let me know how you & doug do. thanks so much for taking him out. great guy and he’s certainly an mvp on a boat while offshore. that way you can worry about the boat and have someone else worry about the lines. he’s someone you’ll want on your team for those offshore trips. great dude.

rock on
