Sheepshead 4-22

Paul and I delayed our departure, hoping to maybe spot a cobia on the ride out. Even though we did not see one, they have arrived off Edisto.

Had a good ride to the Capers, and began catching sheepshead on fiddlers immediately. It was a good bite all morning, and the annoyance of BSB was less than previous trip. We lost a LOT of fish, and threw back 4-5 times as many but did keep six fish up to 17".

I really wish the weatherman had been on board for the ride back. Even at 6 am, he was forecasting 2’ at 8 seconds from the south, all day long. Well he did get the direction right and it was dead in our face, but more like 4-5’ of pure slop. The 45" ride took over 3 hours; a stark reminder of why I retired from offshore fishing in a center-console.

If the weather is like that then head straight for the red roof on the end of the Isle of Palms, A little ride down the waterway is easier to handle then going back towards the harbor. If that is what you did that is.
