we proved this point about 50-60 times yesterday…I think most of us were using Owner Mutu light 1/0 or 2/0 circles and Gamakatsu 2/0 circle hooks…don’t believe we gut hooked the first fish…many were released with only a pierced lip, except for one I hooked on the side of the head…strangest hookset I had ever seen on a sheep…
it is law, it can be done, no more grumbling about it

Did you keep track of how many store bought fiddlers caught fish vs. how many wild fiddlers caught fish? I am sure the entire CF nation would like to know.
bonzo, how were you holding your mouth? did the fiddlers do better if they were left handed?
do you have to sit down, turn around three times, then pray to the fiddler gods before you deploy the bait?

I did manage to gut hook two BSB with the circle hooks.
