Sheepshead on the stono at Maybank Bridge?

I have yet to catch a sheepshead and I was thinking about spending part of Saturday looking for them on the Stono. Has anyone ever caught them under the Maybank Bridge over the Stono river near the marina? If that is not a great area then would anyone be able to point me to a better location nearby? It preferable would be within a mile or two of a good kayak launch spot. Don’t say “Just look for any dock with oysters on it” because I have done that many times and just pissed off a bunch of fiddlers. I even have been using canned chopped clams as chum but nothing yet has produced for me. I think my technique has been right, I just need to find the fish.
Is it too early for the sheepshead to be that far up river?
Thanks.

I see guys catching them just sitting on the dock at the Sol Legare launch site on the Stono. The docks downstream from there on the same side look promising; but no I haven’t fished them. Easy yak trip though.
