again, it may be legal…but that above picture is 55 reasons why ya won’t catch 7 to 10 pound fish over the next couple years. Some appear smaller than the foot in the pic…hopefully that foot is a size 17
Quit being A holes. The man had a good day of fishing, and didn’t break any limits or laws. The rest is a matter of opinion and no one cares about yours as much as you do.

He took the bait like a jugbelly redfish on an olive and white clouser.
You know I didn’t say that, quit putting words in my mouth.
Everyone has made their opinion known, fine, well, and good. I personally wouldn’t keep that many fish, I would much rather spearfish and pick a few big ones to take home, but the new guy had a good day and followed the law. If the limit gets dropped to 10 fish, or 5, then things change. Until then, what is there to argue about?
edited to add: And honest question Fritz, are you saying that if that was one of your charters that you wouldn’t let them keep their limit? I’d like to hear your opinion

Do the math. That’s not one redneck loading up, that’s 6 guys, but less than 3 limits. No one would be whining if those 6 guys were in 3 different boats.

I’ve often wondered that myself. Some inshore guides let you keep fish and some don’t. I can totally see both points of interest though; for someone paying all that money to fish and then not be allowed to keep any fish–I’d be a little upset, but for the captain it makes good sense to conserve the resource and protect your livelyhood.
How about it Fritz, can customers keep fish on your charters? How do you feel about this?

I would also say to them that if they want to "fill a cooler" to keep my tip money and go to Simmons Seafood on the Island and buy some Tuna or Grouper. I also will only clean a few sheepshead for my clients.

So to answer your question NO I WOULD NOT LET A CHARTER LIMIT OUT ON SHEEPSHEAD.

Straight from Fritz’s website
“Captain Fritz is a dedicated angler as well as a dedicated conservationist. By conserving today we fish tomorrow. Catch and release is strongly urged but not mandatory.”

Now the question is, if someone paid you to go out and catch Sheepshead, and they wanted to keep them, would you let them limit if you got into the fish, or would you stop them? And for the record, would you let them catch your limit too? Almost everyone who pays to go inshore isn’t from around here and they all want to keep the meat fish.

oops, didn’t see your response. Guess that answers that. I’ll be the first to say that for someone who is on the water as much as you are, it’s good to know your conserving the resource.

I would like to think that some other people are like me and just care about the sport (anticipation of the strike, setting up, and the enjoyment of the fight).
I’ve been on a few charters that would like you keep one fish, and I think that’s the way to go. Just my op

Why not both?
Some people like to eat fish that they’ve personally caught.

tastes better imo.
Maybe some of you guys who do not like to read about or see pictures of an average fishing trip( less than half of a limit) should hang arround the boat landing on the weekends with DNR. After DNR checks for licenses, safety equipment and such then you can board the vessel, count and measure their catch and look the crew over real close and determine whether or not they could consume their catch in a reasonable amount of time, based on there height, weight, number of fishmen, ages and so on. If you feel they have crossed the line, make them wear a sign “I am a greedy fisherman, I keep more than I can eat”

King Privateer and Smily…they are reefs off the coast of Georgia. Pretty long way IMO to catch those sheepshead and post on a Charleston forum.
