Nice Sheeps Lady those things are huge!!!
caught plenty like that this time last year at the near shore reefs.
Fishing is the chance to wash one’s soul with pure air.
Awsome
Fabulous December fishing.
If you’re lucky enough to live at the beach, you’re lucky enough.
This is what you call a (**() nice sheepshead fillet.

If you can’t stand behind our soldiers, try standing in front of them.
I was curious as to the same thing. Maybe she lkept it in a livewell. A dead sheep will turn mostly white after a bit and those have good coloration indicating that they weren’t dead, and if so, not for long.
yella bote
black motor
Sounds like you know about the sheepies (dis)coloration and such - so first off, rock on! And teach me
Question I have for you.
The last one I caught - the mega one - in the pic, has a black mark different than the rest on its face. I was watching the gopro film I had, this fish had that mark on his face from the moment we pulled him out of the water.
What’s up with that?
Did he get clobbered by the future state record sheepshead for misbehavior?
Good. 'cause next time he won’t get in the way of me and that 17 lb’er
On wait… perhaps it is the STRUCTURE that is in the way!!! [:0]

Sheepshead are tough surviviors, IMO. I put one in the cooler, then caught some bigger ones and let him go 30 min later - - he took off like a rocket.
“Fair skies, tight lines, and green numbers.”
Shrimpmister, I doubt she went offshore in 3,4 foot seas - -check last Sunday’s P&C; Capt. Mike Waller’s pics of big sheephead was definitely inshore - - he finds them with his underwater video camera.

WOW nice size sheeps ! The only way I can catch them and flounder is if they hook themselves.

Naclh20 is correct. I caught them inshore.
I love(d) fishing the nearshore reefs but now that the “engangered” black sea bass are being protected for such a long time, I am afraid that if I do take the time to go to the nearshore reefs - I won’t be able to get past these creatures.
I caught a 13.5 " black sea bass up the Cooper the other day…
