UNTIL YOU GET THE HANG OF FISHING FOR SHEEP THEY ARE ONE OF THE HARDEST TO CATCH… YOU WILL LOSE BOAT LOADS OF BAIT TO THEM AND NEVER FEEL THE BITE… I WOULD SUGGEST A GUIDE FOR A DAY TO LEARN THE HOW-TO CATCH - FEEL - METHOD ; IT’LL BE TIME WELL SPENT IMHO…

Depending on where you are fishing, find trees, pilings, rocks etc., that have barnacles on them. Scrape off some of the barnacles for a chum then use China back fiddlers for bait. I will suggest that you find a slack ride drop your line straight down and watch to see if it moves either way, snatch it to hook up. Hopefully.

Funny thing is that in the Gulf you can slay them on live shrimp. Caught them here like that but not like the Gulf.

Any bridge structure… lower your gear to the bottom, crank up 2 ft, lift until you feel “some pressure” then jerk enough to snag the sheepies lip. USE A SHARP 2/0 HOOK. Good luck! You’ll figure it out once you start losing a lot of bait.

Owner ssw #1. 5lb plus sheeps destroy mosquito hooks. You can get knock offs that look the same but the point doesnt last the same as the owner ssw. Id order bulk off the web and save money. Some of the local places have loco prices on the ssw’s.

40" is spot on with everything he just said. Exact same conclusions I’ve come to from trying lots of hooks and then buying bulk.
