Anybody caught or heard of anybody catching Shellcrackers? Seems like they ought to be biting.
heard from a buddy that they have come shallow in goose creek res, so it should be going in most places!

We caught a few yesterday, on Hartwell, while Crappie fishing.
Back of creeks, less than 3’ deep.
The “Shellcracker” hot bite up here is usually near the full moon, in May.
What is the best bait for shellcrackers?
Did y’all catch them on minners from your trap?
Best bait yesterday was a “Fish Stalker”, 2", paddletail jig, Mt. Dew color.
Only Spotted Bass wanted our minners…
Edit: My choice for “best bait” all time, for Shellcrackers, would have to be Crickets!!

Crickets or red worms, fished near the bottom, is what most people use.
