shellcrackers on lake Marion.

Has anyone found them in the shallows yet? I’ve thought about going and trying them this week with all the warm weather. I know it’s still a little early but I love catching those things.

They are still scattered, but they are there. No bedding activity yet but that could change on the new moon. I caught a 13 incher on the 9th and saw one bigger than that caught on stumps while crappie fishing.

I decided to try then this morning. I got on the shellcrackers good early in the morning then they just quit. I did however end up with a nice limit of bream for supper. Still 2 weeks out I believe from coming alive.

What part of Lake Marion?

Shh…

any reports on Lake Marion…I want to go this weekend…

Full moon is coming. Should be good. As long as the lake stays full and the weather stays warm.

They’re still pretty scattered but moving up into 3-6 ft of water around veg. and structure. Picked up a few yesterday that had already turned nice and black for spawning season! We were in the backwaters near Mac’s Landing and Harry’s fish camp, then we moved to Spier’s landing. Plenty of fish to be found at either spot, but Spier’s was pretty packed with bass fisherman.

I launched from packs landing today and caught some bream in the shallows.
