Shem Creek 11/3

I got out this morning around nine and it was a little bit of a chilly start. I started at the upper areas by the house and decided to try and find some larger trout towards the bridge. A idea i would later regret. I managed one quick flounder and then picked up 3 13-14" trout while trolling down the creek. I made it to the big bend before them landing and decided to work the banks on my way back up. By now the water was ripping out of the creek and i was now wishing i had remember to check the tides. It took me the better part of an hour to make my way back to where i started. I would have made the paddle faster if i had not been trying to troll so much. I did not manage any bites trolling but i did pick up a few more similar size trout in the eddys by creek outflows. Tired of paddling I checked back in a couple of the wider creeks and managed to find a couple 20"ish reds in about 1 1/2’ of water. The water never really did slow down before i left but i picked up another 6 or so rat reds and an undersized flounder before i went in at 1230. That area is fishable during larger tides, but i learned a good lesson today in what not to do.:stuck_out_tongue:

The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad. </font id=“size2”>
