i was browsing google maps, and come across that really long walkway behind Vickery’s Bar & Grill and Shem Creek Inn. Could anyone please tell me if this is public access, and are you allowed to fish from it? any chance of catching bait in this area?
Yeah you can fish there. There is usually always someone there fishing. Never tried to catch bait there but not great looking for a cast net but maybe a minnow trap if you feel like waiting for it while crabbing/fishing. Caught a small red there a while ago and there are fish around just not my favorite spot BC of foot/boat traffic. Good walk spot with the dogs for sure. Take no gnats.
appreciate the information. tomorrow will be my first time in Charleston to go fishing, and i’m basically clueless about the area. we will be going out to the jetties, after we get our bait… just not sure where to go? Hopefully I can give a good report instead of living vicariously through everyone else’s good times!
