Unless you’re on the high half of the tide or in a flats boat, stick to the channel on the far northside, right along the docks from the homes in Mt. P.
This means you may have to go all the way out and around the east end past Crab Bank to access the channel (you’ll see the markers).

Thanks Bonecrusher. Is the access any easier coming in from the ocean?

Bonzo is correct. When approaching from the ocean, just stay to the north and follow the channel markers. You’ll be pretty far to the right but that’s where the channel is cut. Going on the left side, closer to crab bank (you’ll see this island) will put you in some shallow water.

You might be able to hug a bit close to south end of the cay outside of Shem Creek, but I got stuck trying to get out of there last week (heading due west) and I only draft 8". I did see some mono hulls make it in/out closer to the cay but the advise above is good stuff.
