Shimano saros fa or stradic fj

Looking for opinions on the two reels, will be either a 2000 or 3000 for inshore fishing from kayak. These are the two I have narrowed it down to , just trying to decide between the two , if they both were the same price which one would you get and why?

I fish with both these reels and have quite a few of each. Obviously, the more you spend, the better reel you get. If money isn’t an issue, the Stradic Ci4 is probably the best inshore reel I have used for 200 bucks or under. That being said, Shimano just “beefed” up the Saros this year, and I have heard great things about that reel. I don’t think you can go wrong with either. Care is important. I would drop a shot of oil on the roller bearing before you use any of them. Spray the reels down with fresh water after each use, and give them a light shot of Reel Magic after they dry. I only use Shimano and have been very happy with them. Between myself and clients, I am ROUGH on my gear and these have held up great.

5151, I have the Penns, Diawas and Shimanos but for the money I can not find anything wrong with the Pfluger President reels. They are smoother out of the box with 10 bearings. The only issue that I have had with the 3 that I own is if you do not was them down good, the outside finish with show wear.

The Shimanos that I have all lost the little plastic cover on the bottom of the reel. I just got a new Penn Spinfisher but found it a litter heavy for the size reel it is. It feels like it is build like a battle tank.

If the Pfluger last 5 years (which they have), and I have to buy another one, it will still be less money than the Spinfisher or some of the other Shimanos.

I use stradic fj’s and like them a lot. The older fi’s are good to. I’d get either of those before the saros

I own a dozen of each, and you won’t go wrong with either. The only difference I have seen over the past few years is the Stradics seem to require less maintenance if you are hard on equipment as I am.

Thanks to all for the info

You cant go wrong with the newest saros, that is probably the best reel for the price, and is just an all around sweet reel. I have a stradic as well and almost prefer the saros more
