I need to replace the bail assembly on my stradic 4000fh but the part is discontinued and i can’t find any online. Don’t want to buy a whole new reel just for the bail assembly. Does anyone know if any other of their bail assemblies are a suitable replacment or does anyone know where i can find out? the part is “Bail Assembly RD7987”.
I couldn’t find one either, a year or so ago.
I ended up keeping the spool for another Shimano and giving the rest to a tackle shop guy that fixed stuff at the coast.

Haddrell’s West Ashley had a great stock of Shimano reel parts for service last time I went looking, I have bought parts for a Stradic bail from them for cheap as well as bearings, bushings etc
thanks, i was gonna check with Haddrells but ill definitely do it now. All i need to replace is the part the line touches. It created a groove that gets stuck. Can’t be good for the line.
You can contact Shimano directly (info below). They used to allow walk in repairs (not sure if still the case), dropped my reel off and they fixed/mailed back within about 10 days, very reasonable cost.
