Took a lighting hit at the house thur night while planting food plots for the upcoming deer season. took out the phone lines so could not post this past weekends action.( also took out the AC, refer, microwave,1 flat screen & another TV.)All the service people were tied up this weekend so I went fishing! Sunday tried some diving on a local wreck with the daughter and newby qualifed son in law. water was swift and low viz so we worked over the spade fish. had a ball as the bug wore out our male egos. lost a lot due to lines to light, am now rigging 20# powerpro with a 17# floro leaders, the fish headed for the bottom when hooked & kept cutting us off. They would not take the offered jelly balls but readily took cut shrimp that was free lined to them.
Sat, went and fished inshore with the butcher boy and did well on the reds & flounders. Went to a place I haven’t fished in 25yrs. and caught a nice mess of slot reds. Had one one that spooled my penn 7000 topped with 65# powerpro but the base was very old 17# stren.If you catch a good red with stren topped with powerpro , you know the rest of the story! may take this weekend off due to the full moon & weather, need to get ready for the Fla.bug season week after next. Headed down to PT. ST Lucie with the boy, FUBAR.
