was woundering if anyone could give me some guideance on where to go to shoot or gig some fish i have never tried before but want to get started
Not to be a smarta$$ but the best thing you can do is go and “search” at the top of your page and search this topic page and then the one that is in the area/region that you fish. Just type in “gigging” or “spearing”. If you want to do it from the safety of the boat you are gigging. If you are getting in there amongst em with the sharks, your spearing em.
Be careful, you WILL get offended before you stop searching and asking questions. From my reading its roughly 70% against either sport and maybe 20% for it…of course there is a 10% group that are clueless and don’t have an opinon either way LOL!
Are you talking shooting with a bow or diving!
Raggedy Azz 17ft Boat With A Blowed Up Motor But Still Wining Money!!!
An aquarium is against the law.Buy frozen fish sling um out of clay pigeon thingy,Use #9 shot.
I am using the bow swamp donkey. ham man I know the difference of the two.I tried searching first, because I didnt want to hear from any of the smart asses on here but it wouldnt work. not saying you are one of them. I am just someone looking for advice which is what this site is supposed to be right?

I agree with Sneakyr, but I don’t think it is much of a challenge with #9 shot. Try using a rifle, and oh, by the way, the method he describes is where the term “flying fish” came from.
One other thought,
You could get a box of frozen Ballyhoo and go to the indoor range and attach them to the target wire and send out to the distance you are comfortable with and blast away. Hope this helps
Ronnie i hope we are all kidding,I could help you on the gigging, but one of the last guys i helped started helping himself and a few of his buddies and so on.I will tell you what you need and how too but you got to find them on your own.Now back on subject i thought #9 shot would cause that dusting effect.
SNEAKYR that would be wonderful. I am not one of those spot stealers you are refering to I have some equipment but just dont know what kind of bottom or best time to go I have been doing it in freshwater some but really want to try saltwater
