Second weekend my buddy was in town to go fishing in a row. Last weekend had the hub go out and replaced both and new tires. This Sunday I pulled out of Dunkin doughnuts at 630 and broke my axle. (Yes that was me blocking the lane for four hours). My buddy may be bad luck. Called a tow and specifically mentioning the need for a flat bed and the cops insisted that they call their own for time sake and told them the axle was broken. Towing dispatch sent a hook truck… no dice. Then waited for the other truck that was (30 mins away several times and 5-6 mins away for 2 hours). 4 hours later they picked my boat up and carried it home for me to fix. At least they gave me a break on the price for waiting. Only charged me 85$ and BoatUS will take care of 50$ of it and I am glad it happened goin 4mph and not 60 on the interstate. Shout out to the Mount P cops. They were very helpful and understanding even though I was blocking traffic for hours and people were driving by taking pics of them standing in front of Dunkin doughnuts all day.
I had the same thing happen to me with a key west 1720 sportsman. What a pain in the butt that was. Luckily I was in a residential area. Hopefully your next trip is much better!
Update! All done replacing axle, leaf springs, leaf spring bolts, tires, fenders, and even threw in a new strap for my wench. Really hope this weather holds out through Saturday so I can give it another try. Need a little return on investment after all the money I’ve spent this month!
Heh, your actual experiences and attendant pain-in-the-assness aside, I’m enjoying this new CF.com series, “I should have stayed home”! Nowhere near as eventful, but I have a friend (+family) I’ve taken on the boat 4 times over several months - every time the weather turns to shmidt and we get wet, cold, wet + cold, or shut out, so I get that your friend may cursed!

Docketing, glad I am amusing someone with my story. Black_bart, I drilled them and used stainless steel finish washers to give it the professional look. Northern tool had the fenders I needed. Mdaddy, you ain’t lying, it’s worth it though.
