Glenn and I invited a friend “Mike” to fish with us last Week. His wife and kids got him a rod and reel for his birthday a year or so ago. I asked him what it was before he came fishing with us so that I could bring a rod/reel combo in the event they sold him a surf rod or something.
Now, Mike doesn’t know anything about artificial bait fishing and I fully expected him to show up with a Carolina rigged 60 lb spooled 8.6’ rod.
Was I ever wrong! Haddrells sold them a medium action extra fast tip St Croix rod with a very nice reel. I had rod envy until I realized how horrible that sounds.
We had a beautiful morning. Caught some trout and one slot red. Made some memories and frying fish for the fourth.
I can’t believe I’m about to write this but I was begging for a breeze. We made a couple of moves just to have some wind and cool off!
