I’ve had on day of good Shrimp netting for bait. The rest of the days I’ve been skunked. What type of terrain, tides, etc. do you look for to find shrimp bait?
Look for the dirtiest water you can find. The shrimp will not hang out in clear water or they will get eaten! If you can find muddy water with no more than 1" of visibility especially in a little cove or creek mouth you will probably find the shrimp. In the daytime I mean…

X2 on Optiker - I was getting good results, numbers wise, on falling tide at creek mouths in shallow, muddy water. Of course, the rays were having good luck as well.
Low tide is best. At high tide, the shrimp will be in the grass. If you can throw your net on the edge of the grass sometimes you’ll catch a few, but they will be stacked up in little pockets at low tide waiting to get back in the grass.
