shrimp baiting

does any one know the dates for this year s shrimp baiting season?
is opening day typically the second friday in september?

I believe it’s the Friday of the first full week of September, thinking it should be the 7th

thanks for the help.

Shrimp season starts on Friday on or before the 15th of September so that should be Sept 14th if I’m reading the law correctly.

This is what I’ve always understood it to be, but I believe that the wording in the law has changed.

ARTICLE 11. Shrimp
SECTION 50-5-1100
(B) The department shall establish annually a sixty-day open season between September 1 and November 15 for taking shrimp over baited areas. The sixty days may but are not required to be consecutive.

I could not find a law worded the way that I (and you) believed it to be.

-The size of a fish is directly proportional to the time between when it’s lost and the story is told. - Me
-What’s the best eating fish, you ask? I’ve found that for a lot people, its the ones that they happen to be able to catch, clean, and cook. - My Dad (1/13/37 - 9/27/16 I love you Pops)
-Until you have loved a dog, part of your soul remains unawakened. Anatole France (paraphrased)
