Took out some shrimp I caught this past season planning to make some shrimp in itallian style sauce…everythings out on the counter and Im already anticipatinng the sauce Im about to make…when in comes donnie who says…“but I thought you were making that alfredo sauce one I like”…dang…not about to change what I want for dinner I fixed both…mom and dad will finish it off tommorow…
My sauce
sauted fresh diced garlic, scallions, mushrooms ,sweet red pepper, basil, thyme, oregeno, bay leaves, julienne sun dried tomatoes, in a small amount of olive oil…hit with a splash of white wine then threw in a can of diced tomatoes and some tomato paste turned down to simmer and added shrimp after about 20 minutes…
His sauce
sauted fresh diced garlic with aouch of basil and some julienne sundried tomatoes in a teaspoon of oilve oil and a small amount of real butter…added heavy whipping cream with a splash of wine…for me and for the skillet:wink:and allowed to reduce some…then folded in some fresh grated parmesan cheese…steamed some broccoli…
served both on fettucini with a salad, french bread with sweet butter
heres a few pics…but was trying to manage two meals, talk to andi(H20gul) on the phone at the same time so skipped some steps…
(dont know what the big onions doing in there…it wasnt used)
dessert… easy petite toasted coconut/pecan tart with whipped cream( for him)
I imagine Donnie hovering behind you in all those pictures mumbling something about being hungry and complaining that everyone on the internet gets to look at the food before he gets to eat it.
No Tang…he sits politely on the couch watching tv while I cook…but come to think of it I do occasionally here a low mumble that sounds kinda like “can I do anything to help” …but then again Im not sure…could have been the tv
A cook book would be hard because I’m a “improvise and never measure” cook…but thanks guys. Really.
OK, that’s it, I’m settin up my tent in your front yard and movin in! How Donnie isn’t 400lbs with all that good food you make is still a mystery to me! Chicken and rice with sausage was awesome!

Mrs penny you are holding up production at my job!!!lol:smiley:Do you have 4 extra plates?? No work to day just watching the new show (penny at her best)lol
bolbie ,they were supposed to be deveined…if some were missed its donnies fault and I will be=ring it to his attention…I peel then then he takes a very thin blade to devein…personally I could care less…they arent de-veined when boiled and peeled or in Beaufort stew…and they werent caught over bait…so guess the ones missed are ok…lol
blackangus…maybe I should catter sometines…or bring you a plate and you could eat it in front of them…lol
spoiled husband “hinted”…ahmmm…“strongly hinted” that he "might " not want leftover pasta…ahmm…following me on this…so I gave in and fixed him a slammed together whatever jumps put at me dinner…salmon patties, deviled crabs I had made and frozen (grandmas recipe)and some shrimp and veggies tossed in light olive oil and seasonings…then just to be mean…I mean intersting …hit it with a good shot of Sriracha hot sauce…(thanks andi for introducing me to that stuff)…“oven grilled” some fresh asparagus with seasonings and sundried tomatoes, oops …forgot he doesnt care for those either…put them on his plate and gave him a smile and look that said…dare you to decline:wink:…
then felt s little guilty and made him a “naner” pie…used low fat pudding and it was actually hard to tell the difference…
called JISUHO and convinced him to relieve me of the sauces on his way home…had to twist his arm…lol
Penny, I made your version of the shrimp and… up @ the top of the thread from shrimp I caught on 9-13-09. I made it for my wife and let me tell you, boy did I score some major brownie points! It was absolutely awesome and the recipe is now in our collection.
