Appreciate it 23Sailfish.

You can also call Bulls bay seafood in MCVL 843-887-3519. Everyone always comes up to my neck in the woods for shrimp best around.

Any of those folks open in Sundays? Bringing our oldest down to CofC and might run up that way if anyone is open.

there is a Facebook page called TEAM Magwood…they sell head on and head off right there by Shem Creek (usually within a block or two)…or call Magwood’s seafood and see what they have going on…they lit up Facebook with some good pricing earlier this week…

We usually pull up on our boat to the Geechie dock in Shem and buy direct from them. Got jumbos on Tuesday for $8/pound head on/$12 head off. Really good size to.
Week before that, when Geechie didn’t have the catch in yet, got large/mediums for 3.50/lb from one of the Vietnamese boats on the west side of the creek.

Bone u overpaid $6.50 is the highest price I have ever paid for 12/15 super jumbo roe shrimp head on when season opens. Later when they return for second round much cheaper. That being said I know the majority of the Captains most my life. Shem always higher because of location. Df all the docks in MCVL closed for retail on Sundays usually nothing is ever a sure bet though. Phone call is always cheaper than gas.

Thanks folks, I’ll check the boats on Shem.

If I'm going to over pay by a couple of bucks, I'd rather that extra money go to the places right on Shem versus a retail space. Plus, the wife loves the nostalgia of buying right off the boat.

The Retail shop is the local shrimp dock fresh unloaded every day from local shrimpers money goes straight into the local community. Employees all from the community. It is a luxury made available for those not living there. Most of these shrimp would have been shipped off ask where your shrimp comes from at Boone hall and other true retail shops heck a lot of the street vendors as well. Us locals have ready access through family and the like. I literally climb on the boat and get them straight from the boat box 2-3 hours after they were caught.
