Shrimpin' License

This will be my second year shrimpin’ so I have a Shrimp License question to ask all you more experienced shrimpers. Since, it is my second year, it is the first year that I have purchased the license with my annual renewal. I have gotten that in the mail (fresh, salt, and shrimp). Will my tag tags come in the mail closer to shrimp season?

yes…

Picked my tags up today when I renewed my fishing license.

Did you apply in person at a DNR office? Is that how you got to walk out with your tags?

Rockbottom3,

What dates show on your tags?

Just renewed mine today! Already got some dates picked out.

I paid for my shrimp license when I renewed my fishing license as I always do. This time I did it at the DNR in Florence because I needed to renew a boat registration as well. When the lady gave me my license she gave me the tags. I have been doing online in the past and they get mailed . The dates say 9-14-12

I renewed my license at DNR on James Island and got my shrimp tags and my doe tags. The lady helping me said they would mail my turkey tags closer to the season.

Talked to the DNR, if you renew in person you will get them on the spot. If you renew by mail you will get them in the mail. Mailed out appx. 1 month prior to the start of shrimp season. If they get lost in the mail or you don’t recieve them (like my license did) call 2 weeks before and they will get them to you.

Thanks people,

I wanted to verify the date for the opening of shrimp season as Sept. 14, 2012. Need to reserve my camp sites. Whatever the tag says is when it happens.
