shrimping basics

Hey guys I hate to ask something like this on a website because I feel like I’m cyber scouting, but I’m in a unique situation. My dad is disabled and hasn’t ahrimper in close to 20 years. I have never shrimped, but he seemed very interested to go this year, so I bought poles and have everything to do it. He can drive the boat while I cast, but I just don’t know where to start as far as location. I know everyone talks about crab bank by shem, but are there any other general areas that people shrimp? Again I hate to ask for help, but any would be great. I want to get him out the house, but don’t necessarily want it to be for an empty cooler.

If he used to shrimp 20 years ago, then those same places are pretty much still the same. Not much has changed location wise.

Bulls Bay during the day, the north or south end. Be careful if you are not familiar with the bay.

St Helena sound. Easier than bulls bay, but can still ground you if you are not paying attention. Follow where everyone is at.
