Shrimping Charleston harbor tonight?

With a king tide high at 8pm and a near full moon I was curious if anyone has advice. I am guessing that it will be very bad or great. Any previous experiences with such a set of circumstances?

I’ll let you know tomorrow. Headed out there tonight. I know I’ll catch more than I will if I stay at the house, but id like to know of anyone has any comment on our chances.

Half a cooler of mostly med to lg in about an 1 1/2 then dropped off at slack tide. Good night. Guy at the dock was impressed with the size for Shrimping the harbor as of late. Going Friday.

Any advice on how you set up? I’ve only been once and that was at low tide…gonna try tonight and see how it goes. We set up before on the outer ort of crab bank and I’m assuming it will be way too deep there tonight. Thanks…

We use a pole to first feel the bottom for oysters after that if you know when high tide is just adjust your depth for that we started at 7 and ended around 9 ft. I like it a little shallower but that’s me. Fished about 100 yds off the patriots point cabanas.

If you get out around 5 to set up poles. Look for 3-4 Ft. The tide is coming up, so u’r looking at 5-6 when the shrimp come in to feed. It will be 7-8 when u’r cooler is full. Good luck it will be hot the next 4 days.

I only made it to the boat ramp last night. Had the only thing worse than boat trouble. - trailer trouble. Got it fixed and going to try tonight. Anyone want to recommend an area? CB or Yacht club for a higher tide?

DM I was over in front of the golf course Tuesday night, went out to get them on the incoming tide. Shrimp where there when we went out which was a good hour before low. We made a couple good runs before they shut off waiting for the tide to turn. Guess what I’m suggesting is don’t wait for a specific time, if the current is moving they might be there already.
