Shrimping Report 9/17

Low tide was just around sunset, so we set up the poles and baited next to the channel in the harbor. Poles were between 3 and 7 feet of depth. It only took 100 throws to get 12 dozen shrimp… :expressionless:

Maybe those in Bulls Bay had more luck, but we did not find them in the harbor.

That’s my luck.

That’s a lot of hard work ! Bulls bay has a huge opening into the ocean and the area I described in my earlier post has a sandy bottom that the shrimp seem to like. I don’t even start throwing until the tide starts coming in. There are some good places out from the James Island yacht club. The current is mote gentle at bulls because the opening is so wide. Incoming tide is critical. If you want I can show you some of my secret spots.

I always did better in BB than I did the harbor. And, the shrimp I caught were usually bigger in BB.
