Anyone know when they are planning on putting back the shull markers on the lower end of the lake. Several are still out of position or missing completely.
There are some missing in the elbow area too. One right in front of Acapulco landing for sure. We fished Clarks Hill a couple of weeks ago. Saw a bunch of the old style shoal signs on posts. They are much easier to see in the dark than the floating bouys. Wish we had them back on Murray.
Ha … the way these idiots drive around on Murray - there’s a reason why they no longer use posts …

I like how they named the boat and were even thoughtful enough to tie the boat off before they left … LOLOL
I recently, within the last month I think, have seen a DNR boat on the lake with a load of new shoal markers. Not sure where they were put, but I believe that they are replacements. I was on the lake today and saw some markers that appeared to be new (looked shiny like new).

As of last Saturday they were still missing in the lower end of the lake. I guess they get misplaced when the water gets taken down.

You know Rick, I’ve seen that picture many times and I am still amazed that after that impact, the post is still vertical.

I saw them out near sandy beach like a month ago putting some new ones out. But they don’t do it enough. I know of some that have been gone more than a year.

They are budget limited, and I do not think they are putting numbers on the ones they replace.
The two that are over by the spence islands have drifted in between the two islands. You can see them if you look. Why cant they put the same ones back.
I called DNR before Memorial Day to inform them of several missing markers down lake - four around Burton’s Point, one on Wise Key between Spence & Goat and another in Beard’s Creek. If you call the Columbia office, you will be directed to Charleston office - which is in charge of replacing markers for the entire state. Nice lady on the telephone down in Charleston. Told me the crew from years past just retired this winter. The new crew is ambitious and ready to install new markers - provided we can tell them where they are missing.
Ed Fetner’s “Fish Hunt” map is a great reference as the markers are noted by number on the map. I have given the marker numbers to the Charleston crew in year’s past - and they were eventually replaced. If you don’t Ed’s map - they will take a location description.
If you note missing markers - I suggest calling DNR to get them on the “to do” list.
