So, my pump is bad, the little motor in it has finally given out. I’ve looked at the replacements for them and its $106 for the chunk of plastic with the little motor in it. I just can’t bring myself to blow a benjamin on this pump when I know that the only thing wrong is the motor and its about a $7 part. It’s the principal at this point.
Does anyone know a good source where I can pick up one of these little motors? I called Shurflow and they do not sell to the public. I was told I’d have to buy directly from West Marine and of course the tackle shops only sell the $106 + with the plastic piece surrounding it. I’ve checked radio shack and went to look at the hobby lobby in West Ashley. It has closed down apparently. So, I’m looking for any other alternatives.
It’s a very simple 12VDC 3.75 Amps max motor.

Can’t help with the motor, though. If ShurFlo won’t sell it directly, I have no idea where you’d find something like that.
The motor failed because of water leaking into it. I can’t remember if those pumps are magnetcally driven (so there is no chance of water getting into it), but I would check that out before putting another motor it (if you can find one) so it doesn’t happen again.
