I still cannot get any clarity on my side view after playing with the settings for quite a while. I’m attaching some screenshots in case I’m doing something basic wrong. There definitely should have been dock posts show up in all of these screenshots.
Details:
3-4 mph cruise speed - in a straight line
relatively flat seas
sand bottom
depth: 7-13 ft
scroll speed: variable, fast was clearest
Range: 50-60 feet
contrast: between 50 and 80 percent
It looks as thought it is trying to pick up those rocks in the pics… the mounting angles, speeds, and ALL settings can effect the image greatly.
There is a little bit of info here http://old.charlestonfishing.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=180211&whichpage=1 you can pick through.
Also, the Eye Strike guys held a seminar that was filmed and the links were posted here somewhere but I couldn’t find them. Maybe Optiker will chime in with a link soon. If you can, watch the vids and learn what you can from it and apply it to you situation, it’s bound to help!

Thanks StumpNocker, unfortunately I watched the entire seminar and still couldn’t get much better results. I think its still just an issue of not having my settings dialed in correctly, hopefully more time on the water working with it can fix it. Hopefully Optiker can weigh in at some point.
