who uses a side scan? fish most inshore and want to see under docks and along jetties.Any input on brand and results.
A lot of reads but no replies. Guess no one uses sidescan.
Put a Lowrance HDS gen 2 touch on a boat last month.
Just came back in from LCA reef tonight. Nice to see structure 60’ to starboard and not under the boat so I could make the move. Also saw fish and small mound of structure 10-15 ft to port (no structure to starboard, none straight under) and bam the port side rod gets hit. Good first day with it. Look forward to fine tuning it.
- love the touch screen and all features of the unit.
- no problem holding bottom at speed, I’ve seen others report.
I’m out by Folly if you want to see it.
I use lowrance side scan often. Not really for fishing though. I’ve seen some awesome scans of stingrays. Personally I believe side scan would be better suited for locating structure rather than individual fish. Like stickman said its awesome to see whats around you rather than whats just directly under your tail.
