Siesmic testing

Sounds like a bad idea. Hopefully it gets shot down. If we had oil rigs off our coast where would the land ‘homebase’ be. In other word’s where would SC’s Venice be?

Here. Charleston is the only place with anything close to the trucking / shipping / storage infrastructure. It’s a horrible idea. I covered the offshore oil / gas industry for years before I got back home to SC and no matter how careful the oil boys attempt to be, it’s still heavy industry and its sloppy and it requires significant shoreside infrastructure. Anyone here every do any painting? You can be as clean as you can be be and you still got it splattered on your floor, your drop cloth, etc… It’s dirty stuff. We don’t want it.

Maybe then the state would restart the inshore Port and get all the Port Truck traffic out of Charleston.

“Why Bruce?”

Probably Jasper County. My guess.

Georgetown could really use a boost to its economy. I'm not having an issue with this. Its not like oil is an unnatural foreign item. like paint - Messy ? some think mud is messy.

We were just along about offshore drilling the other day. The jobs it would create and the money it would bring in…smh nope lets just stay little ole SC for ever.

You should stick to racing motorcycles and antagonizing cops…

I love the idea of drilling up all of our live bottoms and destroying our beaches in hopes that we get a few beautiful shallow water oil platforms visible from Folly Beach in the hopes that we have some decent shots at attracting some more barracudas and smoker king mackerel. And the thought of beautiful women in their once-white, orange stained bikinis, to die for! Also, we could use the boost here in Charleston since we have only had a 30% population increase since 2000. As far as I am concerned there is not enough traffic here, and I hate the idea of it taking 45 minutes to get from James Island to West Ashley when it could take 2 hours instead. Bring on the oil drilling x-convicts!!!

Yeah…that’s no fun. Racing bike cost way to much money and its more rewarding at my age to help a cop out unless they are just a real sack of crap. Thanks for the jab though bud. All high and mighty boater guy you.

Everyone that *****es about growth has more than likely see their standard of living increase big time because of it.

I don’t want it. I don’t think our coast “needs” this. Can’t hardly surf fish anymore and the nearshore wrecks look like parking lots. Not to mention the damage to the wildlife that will follow.

Not me. Just the opposite.

I’m pretty sure its methane related fuel they are after. Maybe I’m wrong but either way f rigs off SC.
