Silent treatment

I hunt in Georgetown County with many friends hunting in Horry County. All of our stories so far are the same. The toms are very quiet so far this season. In years past, you could sneeze and have one gobble. Seems my friends with the best luck are the ones hunting over fields with a large field-of-view. Are they quiet everywhere so far?

Weather has had them in a funk so far for sure. Been up and down, opening weekend (march 15th) they gobbled their heads off, since then its been hit or miss.

What if 3 accidentally line up and tip over when you pull the trigger?

Well then you call your buddy to come and get the other one!

I am tagged out for the season as of yesterday for the second year in a row, not including the two I called in for two first timers this season. One being my ten year old son. Got a double opening day in Fairfeild and yesterday with my buddy as his first. Both birds yesterday had 1 & 3/8 inch spurs. My bird had 5 beards, never seen that before. They are hammering upstate. Two really nice birds and a great way to end my shooting season. Now just guiding.

which, if you've read the new regs, is now illegal if you are tagged out. You must have tags to participate in hunting turkeys. Tagged out=stay out the turkey woods the rest of the season. As much law and ethics as youve been preaching lately I would have expected you to know this.

I was not aware of that. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Really a tough problem to have.
