Since Scout won't help me....

I have contacted Scout 2x in the past 2-3’weeks. " we’ll get back to on this, or didn’t you get the email" kind of answers. There are no Scout dealers where I live.

I bought a used 2015 with 68 hours in January. Runs great, fishes great ! My question is how to make the port and starboard hatches DRY? There is a threaded hole in the bottom but water does seem to backup in there after time on the water. Is there no plug, or threaded plug to fit this?

Thank you.

Couldn’t you stick a rubber plug in 'em?

Not that simple. I can’t find a plug of that diameter, thanks for the thought.

You might try Fisher Scientific or Ebay. You can find them. Look for rubber stoppers.

Looks like 1" NPT? Maybe it’s parallel threads.
Whatever it is, it’s got to be a common thread size. If it’s NPT, get a PVC threaded plug from one of the hardware stores and you’re set. If it’s parallel thread then get a threaded plug with parallel threads. McMaster Carr can deliver what you need in two days.

I have such a drain in the bottom of my cooler seat. I bought a rubber stopper and use that. It works.

“Apathy is the Glove into Which Evil Slips It’s Hand”, but really, who cares?

Is that a Bay Scout? those are the live wells, right?

if so, should have came with rubber plug as well as the PVC pipe with holes in top for overflow.

If those are livewells find the livewell pump and under it there is a valve that you can turn off and it will keep water from coming in, that is the way it is in my Key West

Thanks for replies.
It’s actually 1 1/2" in dia.
The boat is a Scout 201 BayScout. My livewell is under the seat console,'and the baitwell is under the front seat. These (2)wells are on the corners of the stern.

I switched from the one Island Boy posted to these and haven’t looked back. The only drawback is they sling water everywhere when removing them because they are so stretchy, no matter how easily you remove them. Hope this helps.
