Hey, thanks all for the positive reviews. Glad you enjoyed it. Sirecks here is the rig I used to get the footage. As you can see it is pretty invasive which might be why no grouper or marlin stopped by to snack. A great white with a satellite tag took a look but since it did not eat the bait I did not include it in the video! The second pic is a cotter pin adapted to fit in the end of the boom. The main line waspassed thru the pin, a small float put on the line to stop it passing back thru the pin, and a snap swivel attached below the float. The chicken rig is then attached to the swivel. Most fish would ultimately pull the pin thus separating the line from the ‘boom’. We used our downrigger to lower the whole thing. I actually was surprised at how little the whole rig seemed to affect the fish so I never took the next step of disguising the whole arrangement. Maybe if I make it look like a speargun it will actually attract grouper! I AM JUST KIDDING!!!
