What type of sinking lines do y’all use for beating up banks for reds and trout? I’m thinking type 2/3. Average depth we fish around here is 5/10 feet so It’s almost like a 250g at 6 ips is too much? So many options. I’ve got a 7 wt I’m rigging up and I really want to get as efficient line as possible.
I use a full sink fishing from a boat to bank. We have used them for years from SC & LA. I realize they are not so popular by the cool Orvis folks but they work great! You may have to adjust your fly choice or add “ weed” guards to stay out of the oysters but that is not a problem once you figure out a pattern.
Fish caught casting to shore(to the very edge of the water) and stripping back

Yea I’m just curious specifically what type of sink line. There are like 9 different weights of sink line haha
SA. MASTERY striped bass. Fast sink
Start stripping as soon as that fly hits the water especially if casting directly to the bank.
