FIshing with the faimly in the harbor at about 11am today, heard a very clear distress call, taking on lots of water at bouy 22. We haul a** across the harbor and got there just after the coasties and the sherriff. Shrimper Anna Grace is down by the bow with maybe 12" of freeboard before water comes over, but seemed stable. Stayed a little while but the kids were getting queasy in the harbor mouth.
Does anyone know what happened, and if they were able to save her?

on par with the commercial boat going down offshore this weekend. Neither had any business doing what they did. Glad everyone made it back to the hill.
capt. steve from TOWBoat, and I were the original salvors on the project, but with no insurance, and the expense of the crane, barge, and tugs, as well as the actual salvage, the owner was unable to cover the costs, so the USCG federalized the vessle. Once that happened, they are required to use their contractors to do the salvage. As of today, Anna Grace was still completely submerged where she went down, halfway between Bouy #21 and the rocks at the south Jetty. There is alot of debris in the water such as nets and rigging, so give her plenty of room, especially on the down current side
I was out at TNT hole a few days ago and there was huge fuel slick on the water. It smelled like diesel and was enough to give me a headache after a while. I assume that was from the sunken ship? Not sure why they wouldn’t try to contain it.
