I’ve just installed an LWX-1, tied it to the LSS-1 enet hub and it doesn’t work. I’ve got a power light and no status light. Because the manual is so poor and it was after hours to contact Lowrance, I thought maybe status only shows up after activation… well I was wrong on that. It seems I’m paying for some weather data that I can’t even get yet.
Anyone had this problem and found a result? The only thing I’ve found searching is possible I didn’t tied the shield to ground. I’ll do that tomorrow and try again.
Power LED = ON
Status LED = OFF
Nada on the HDS, doesn’t even know its there.
The LSS doesn’t show activity on that port either.
Solf help suggestions?
Have you tried bypassing the hub? You don’t need to run it thru the hub. Plug it directly to the back of the unit and see if anything changes.
If hub isn’t the issue then Disconnect network from the unit altogether. Do a master reset. Power unit off then back on without network connected. Once booted, cut unit off and hook up network. Power back on so it can recognize the lwx1 fresh. Make sure all connections are good. Again, I would go straight into the yellow plug with the Ethernet cable and bypass any hub. What else have you got that needs the hub? I never used a hub to have the lwx1 hooked up with my hds units.
Also, Hopefully you have enabled weather overlay and chosen what wx layers you want to show from within the hds menus. It will not just pop up on its own. I am pretty sure back when I had mine, the status light wasn’t on when powered up. It only flashed for the power up sequence. The power light is the Only one that stays lit continuous.
I tried bypassing the hub last night, but it didn’t phase it. I don’t get a blinking status light at all when I power it up in either configuration or any sequence of starting each unit up (LWX first or second or simultaneously relative to HDS).
I’ve seen the exact arrangement of my components in manuals, so I didn’t think the LSS hub being involved would be the problem.
I’ll try going through the menus more at lunch and look for the auto config kind of stuff. I see some examples of that on the web to help me navigate.
Nada, Lowrance says it is defective. The dotcom that I bought it from makes you pay for return shipping, even for defective parts and wait 2 days before your request to send it back too, deal with someone else is my opinion. PM me if you want to know who.
Ordered from him yesterday, sending the first one back to HodgesMarine.com. Regular delivery gets it here Wednesday. Good to go, hopefully. Thanks for your help.
