Billy, Brock, Trent, Jeb, Ross, and Billy’s son Ben. Took on the nations best king fisherman in last weekends 2014 SKA National Championship held in Biloxi Mississippi.
Guys had a blast and did a great job representing our state and Division 3 of the SKA. Finished 2nd over all with a 2 fish aggregate of 94.22 pounds. They held first place until the very last boat that brought in 95.02 pounds. Congrats to Clayton Kirby for the win.
Tough loss but a heck of a showing for team Mas Pescado and Freeman Boatworks!
Awesome to see a Charleston built boat and team standing with the best of the best! Keep up the good work guys!!
Winning boat wasn’t checked in properly by cutoff time.
Boat was allowed to proceed to the scales and to the stage by the tournament people.
I really do not like it when there are rules that people don’t want to treat as rules, but I have to say that Freeman did the right thing here for his business and relationship with the tournament and its circles, if you will.
It seems to me that a lot of boat purchases are made due to emotion and brand perception- rather than performance. Billy’s taken over the latter because there is no competition. Now he’s gaining more of the brand perception sectors, and not fighting for his deserved 1st place here was a smart move I think…
The tournament and people there know what really happened, and that’s that Freeman smoked everyone else!
