Any preferences as to which brand may be better than another?
Give a man to fish, you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he has to buy a boat, get a bigger truck to pull it, buy new tackle all the time, service the engines when they quit on him, and avoid most family outings, just so he can enjoy this hobby he loves so much…

broke one off a few years ago and put this on instead of welding a new one on. Worked great.
“Why Bruce?”
Thanks guys…gotta get one before I go back out again.
Skeg Guard is fine if the lower unit has a flat skeg and adjustable torque tab.
Some lower units now come with a built in contour and no adjustable torque tab.
Lower units with a contoured Skeg need to be repaired.
If you reconsider,
Skips Prop Shop in North Charleston does pretty good work and can weld on a new skeg.
ok…pre-shate the valuable info friogatto and TS21…never heard of Skips before and didn’t know they existed, but they’re right down the road and looks like I’ve passed them 1000 times without even knowing what they were…will stop in there one day.
Don’t judge a book by its cover. Skip is a magician with a propeller, but his cleaning skills are a bit lacking, lol.
