Skrimp and gwits

Want to cook some good homemade shrimp and grits. What are some good recipes?

Phin,

This is my recipe below that I use. I’m sending you this to be used for 8 people:

2 LBs Shrimp
2 Sticks of Butter
Tabasco Sauce
2 Green Bell Peppers
1 Whole Onion
1 Garlic Clove
2 Lemons
2 Packs of Bacon
Flour
Chicken Stock
2 lbs. Chedder Cheese

Alright, fry the bacon in a pan, (I cut the bacon into pieces before frying it). While that is going, go ahead and start the grits. As this is going, go ahead and peel the shrimp. Put the shrimp in a bowl with however much Tobasco you like, squeeze both lemons over the shrimp as well. Put those in the refrigerator. Once the bacon is fried, pour in the chopped Bell Peppers and Chopped Onions at the same time, let that cook with the bacon and bacon grease until they are soft, add the chopped garlic at this time as well. Once everything is soft turn to simmer. Meanwhile, add the butter sticks and cheese to the grits, stir, and let simmer as well. Add flour to the bacon/pepper/onion/garlic until it gets pasty…Shouldn’t take too much, finally add the chicken stock and stir until it becomes gravy. Once all of that is in gravy form add the shrimp until they turn red and serve. I make this a couple of times a year and always get rave reviews. I hope you enjoy it.

Actually 4 people, not 8.

Hey Bowhunter. I worked there 13/ 14 years ago. Hands down one of the best ways to make shrimp and grits.

We had shrimp and grits two nights ago and I told my wife, “this would make a great omelette.” Nice job C. Fritz.

The breakfast in the following morning might be my favorite part of making this stuff. I’ve been craving it for a few weeks now, just haven’t done it.

we may disagree on somethings… but dammm that looks good. So basic recipe and go from there. Wonder if i’ve ever cooked much that was exactly the same. No.

Fritz, if that tastes as good as I am imagining it does, it’s the best I’ve ever had!

If you’re lucky enough to be fishing, you’re lucky enough.

“Fish On”

I went crazy again this past weekend and made a big batch. Ate the last of it this morning over a fried egg for breakfast. Pics are on my phone. Will try to get them up later to compare the gravy.
