Got to Atkins at 0430 and launched at 0500…
Made it to Lions Beach and hit a “WHITE OUT”…Didnt have my handheld gps and got vertigo…Rather than hit the dam I decided to anchor and wait it out…How long could it be,right?? Sun-up was 0630!! No problem, RIGHT?? WRONG!!!
It cleared at 0900!!! And wouldnt you know it, I stopped in the only place that didnt have fish…Good thing I had plenty of smokes and cold drinks!! I trolled for afew hrs after it lifted w/ no luck…
OH, and got the “evil eye” from the “guard tower”…I wasnt EVEN CLOSE to going inside the bouys…But “she” ran to the edge of the wall to make sure…
That’s alright, you’ll get 'em next time…
