Skunked!

Got out early figured I’ll work the out going tide and the weather was windy, chilly and the water was muddy from all the rain those past few days. Worked quite a few creeks with one trout hit with my line tangled round my eye and I losted it. Tried MM and all i got was a 15 lb cat. Decided to head in and finish my lighting in garage and was sweating. Turned out to be a beautiful day.

Hey, it happens to the best. You have had a great run the last few weeks and I bet you won’t stay skunked for long.

FatRat, In my book, skunked = no fish. 15# cat is not skunked

I was out yesterday too, and also found very muddy water, as expected with the 3" of rain that we had… Spent most of my time looking for clear water and found it on the main river. Somehow I managed a nice tourney-red at 22.5" and a very, very lost trout at 17" that had no business swimming in fresh water. I took him out of the gene pool  Both caught on gulp sapphire shine jerk shads on 1/4 oz jig. Too murky for unscented baits today. Was off the water after 2.5 hrs, glad to catch what I did and get back home and try to be productive…

Highlight of my day was seeing a river-otter walking around on land then plunging in the water. He had no idea I was there :slightly_smiling_face:

At least you were able to go! I’ve been land locked with this cold for a week…and wish I couLd at least smell the marsh and mudd…and a fish would be a bonus :). But know how you feel…we’ve all been there done that so to speak…you at least want to feel something tugging at your line !

I was out there as well yesterday… SKUNK!!! Funny thing was, I saw fish EVERYWHERE!!! Swirl after swirl, but no one was hungry. Oh well. It did turn out to be a great day. Off the water around 4:30.

Opti, I definitely saw you on YHC. Should have pulled off of that platform and spoken. Will do next time.
