When my son is old enough to be my pallbearer, I’ll consider skydiving. I really do want to try it, but I have to play responsibly since our house is a 1-income house lol. I don’t want to be the deadbeat greasy spot that got himself splattered chasing adrenaline lol.
Moral judgment under girds the entire structure of laws and is necessary for the rational structure of any significant statute. The idea that our laws can stand independent of moral foundation is senseless.----- Albert Mohler.
I don’t want cut rate skydiving.

folks - please do yourself and loved ones a huge favor and do some real research on your options, not all skydiving centers are the same and there are some important differences
just because the website states certain facts doesn’t make them true, google “Skyride rip off” and read the first page
I’ve been jumping for 34 years and worked at/operated 3 drop zones, have been at Skydive Carolina in Chester near Rock Hill for 22 years
it’s by a huge gap the best, safest, most accommodating place I’ve ever worked, twin engine turbine planes (2), 20+ expert instructors, HD video available, most modern equipment, snack bar, picnic tables with shade, full size building with AC, etc.
on a typical weekend we’ll do 100 tandems, and have 20-40 regular skydivers enjoying themselves, have been in business about 25 years
other places will advertise this stuff and in some cases it’s simply not true, be safe out there
I’ll personally vouch for anything on our website, no need for me to lie, I have no financial interest in the business
we take a ton of pride in providing everyone a great experience

Seeing your screen name made me wonder if you had ever been affiliated with Blue Sky Adventures that used to be in St. George. That is where I jumped. I definitely was not endorsing the Drop Zone in question as I don’t know them. Just passing on a Groupon. Everyone should jump out of a plane at least once!

affiliated with - yes - in that the owner is a good friend, I trained him as a first jump student in Walterboro, have made many jumps with him, made a few jumps at his place, took a few students and tandem jumpers for him, and we were on the World Record 246-way jump near in Chicago together - good times
understood that you weren’t endorsing, and I was simply providing some general education, it’s all good
some would say I’m biased and that would be true, biased toward safety, and the customer getting what they paid for and having the best experience possible
It’s a lifetime sport, with lifetime friends, we welcome everyone - and yes you’re correct - Everyone should jump out of a plane at least once!
Like me (still scared of heights), you may like it and come back for another, and another. One day you write in your log book - June 28, 2013, King Air, 13.8’, 63 seconds freefall, 3-way with Jenn and Tim Reynolds, 10 points, great fun, jump #3801

Skydiving is the most fun that you can have with your clothes on
I used to love it, had to give it up because of bad knees. Old age is no fun at all.

That’s a good thing to be biased toward in that sport.

I remember in 1977 or 78 watching my big brother make a jump in Walterboro. main shoot didn’t open and secondary did not fully open. He came down fast… We didn’t know it was my brother until they picked him up and brought him to the hospital. Sprained ankle was all he got out of it. I’ll never do it voluntary.
I jumped in Chester and I loved it. Wish I could go more often!! Blueskyguy do you know gene Fulton?
