slang terms for fish

a coworker was fishing and he saw a school of fish about 2 feet long and a guy said it was shovelheads. not cat fish but is there another slang for these fish i do not know about? they were silver also.? i heard catfish were called tourist trout:sunglasses: reddrum, spottails,redfish,bullreads, rat reads etc. whats your slang for other fish?

I’m still laughing about Bad_Habit calling the silver snapper the “stinky pinky”. Don’t know where that came from? :smiley:
